My Top 10 Road Trip Favorites

Traveling long distances with small children is a daunting task and overwhelming to even think about! Little patience sucking vultures just looking to prey on their scatter brained and sleep deprived parents. But we do it for them. For the sake of making memories and that few days of precious smiling faces.

So we pull on our big girl pants and suck it up. We drive to 12 different stores to find all the right toys and snacks. We stay up till midnight doing laundry and packing suitcases, while also not forgetting to stop the mail and make the coffee pot. We would all being lying if we said the thought of, “is all this hassle really worth it” didn’t cross our mind at a least once. And of course the answer is yes.

Nowadays we are extremely lucky to have all the modern conveniences of portable DVD players, squeezable applesauce, and enough Pinterest ideas to make a 1,200 mile trip there and back a couple of times. And as simple as I’d like to say that I am, I am willing to pay for convenience these days. With my little four year old Chatty Cathy in tow, you can bet I’m about to break the bank finding things to keep her entertained in the back seat. Here is my top 10 list of road trip favorites in no particular order.

1) Portable DVD player
2) Crayola Dry Erase Light-Up Board

3) Thirty-One Chill-icious Thermal for her snacks

This owl thermal was a seasonal item a year or two ago but they have other great thermals to check out!

4) Bop it! Micro Series Game

5) Usborne Books 100 things for little children to do on a trip

6) Lap Board

Ninja Turtle was all they had at my walmart but luckily we’ve had no complaints 😉

7) ipad Mini great for games and Disney Appisodes

8) Discovery Kids Digital Camera

9) Connect 4 Grab and Go

10) Color by numbers coloring book and Crayola Twistables Crayons

The color by numbers book we found at our local 99 cent store and she loves it 😁

And there you have it! My top 10 road trip favorites. Soon I will post my top 10 favorite apps for kids! Invest, don’t stress! Have a safe and happy trip with your family!
